Issue 254 – Out now!

Article

British wool special: in this issue we’re featuring fibres from sheep that live all the way up in the Outer Hebrides right down to ones grazing the grass of southern Cornwall, with notable stop-offs in Yorkshire and Hampshire on the way.

As well as those lovely sheepy shades we’ve got some beautiful greens reminiscent of our green and pleasant land to set them off. And we’re looking behind the wool, with in-depth interviews with Yorkshire’s Laxtons, Cornwall’s The Raw Wool Company and Sophie Hetherington Heywood, a fibre artist who sells a range of rare-breed wools under the name The Peg Loomer. Plus we meet Lisa Chamoff of Indie Untangled, who has devoted her life to putting independent dyers in touch with the knitters who want to buy their wares, and take a look at what’s in store from major yarn brands for the upcoming autumn and winter knitting season.
