SIZE

45cm x 45cm (17.75in x 17.75in)

YOU WILL NEED

Rowan Creative Linen, 50% linen, 50% cotton (200m per 100g)
2 x 100g hanks in 635 Stormy (A)
1 x 100g hank in 620 Cloud (B)
1 x 100g hank in 630 Denim (C)
45cm x 45cm (17.75in x 17.75in) cushion pad
1 pair of 4.5mm knitting needles
Note: Yarn amounts given are based on average requirements and are approximate.

TENSION

An exact tension is not necessary for this project.

FRONT

Using 4.5mm needles and yarn A,
cast on 65 sts.
Work 9 rows in st st, starting with a knit row,
in yarn A.
Work 9 rows in st st starting with a purl row,
in yarn B.
Cont in st st, rep the 18-row stripe sequence
5 more times.
Work 9 rows in yarn A.
Cast off knitwise on WS of work.

Weaving

Cut lengths of yarn C measuring 55cm.
Thread up two strands at a time and using a knitters’ sewing up needle, weave alternately through knitted fabric on Rows 3, 5 and 7 of each stripe worked in B.
Cut lengths of yarn B measuring 55cm.
Thread up two strands at a time and using a knitters’ sewing up needle, weave alternately through knitted fabric on Rows 3, 5 and 7 on the 3rd, 7th and 11th stripes worked in A.

BACK

Using 4.5mm needles and yarn A,
cast on 65 sts.
Work 117 rows in st st starting with a knit row.

TO FINISH OFF

Weave in any loose ends and press lightly according to ball band instructions.
Using back stitch or mattress stitch if preferred join side and top seams, insert cushion pad and then join base seam.
